Danny I agree that the area of Educator Professional Develoment is of great concern. In my opinion, it is the most important of the areas and should be tended to with sufficient funds, training and resources, for educators. They are the ones that have to help facilitate the 21st Century technology in the schools. The better prepared, comfortable, and knowledgeable educators are with technology, the greater the impact of its use and directed use in the classroom. Sure, the students have skills and knowledge many educators don't yet have, but they are the ones who are expected to help drive the move.
Danny, first I am exceedingly impressed with your technology skills. Your charts are amazing! As for the Educator Professional Development, I personally feel technology takes a back seat to literacy, math, science and other training. This year, we had to acquaint ourselves with the new ELAR TEKS. I am hopeful that next summer, more teachers will opt for summer technology professional development.
